Salman: The Crown Prince

As expected, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz chose Prince Salman Bin Abdulaziz as his crown prince. The selection is fitting and reassuring and was eagerly anticipated by everyone. Prince Salman is a statesman per excellence whose character and stature exceed the positions he has held throughout his rich professional career.

Perhaps the most prominent landmark in his life was when Prince Salman assumed the position of Governor of Riyadh Province.  He carried out major renovations and transformed Riyadh into a modern capital city, providing advanced services and facilities to both its residents and visitors in a manner that met all their needs. Hence Riyadh became a truly admirable model of wise local Saudi administration. Prince Salman achieved accomplishments in various areas of public affairs, and he would often keep track of the smallest details of his projects until they were completed in an exemplary manner. Similarly, in the social sphere, Prince Salman utilized his exceptional abilities to communicate with both senior and junior officials, whether in villages or cities or outside the country, until people came to know him as a statesman par excellence. His interest and passion for developing administrative elements is also well known to everyone. All administrations, corporations and authorities under his leadership and supervision can testify to Prince Salman’s developmental trend, likewise manifested in the results he has achieved.

Prince Salman has always been interested in uncovering the roots of Saudi national history, and so he established numerous research centers in different parts of the Kingdom. These centers aim to record Saudi history whether through the testimonies of those still alive, or through collecting and studying reliable documents.

Prince Salman Bin Abdulaziz is known for his discipline, commitment, accuracy, firmness, and attention to detail. He prides himself on seeing the bigger picture before making a judgment, expressing an opinion or making a decision.

Saudi Arabia, by selecting Prince Salman as Crown Prince, has chosen stability and continuity. This is an integral part of the well-known Saudi discourse that the people have come to rely on and expect. By ensuring that this discourse remains the same, Saudi society and the international community have been reassured of the situation, which is especially pertinent given that the Saudi economy has considerable international weight and is seen as an influential player in the international arena. The Kingdom has therefore sent an important message of reassurance and consolidation in a highly turbulent region.

Prince Salman, who has held the important and sensitive position of Minister of Defense for some time now, has constantly endeavored to implement his developmental plans in different military sectors. He has paid important international visits to consolidate the Kingdom’s relations and utilized his new position and international stature in doing so, an approach that has gradually begun to bear fruit.

The Saudi Crown Prince is a cultured man; he is well-read and aware of everything around him. He is immensely experienced in terms of his professional career and his knowledge, which is something worthy of respect and can by no means be underestimated, for this will be a decisive element that will add to the importance of his post, his role and his objectives.

Crown Prince is an enormously important position in the Saudi state, and the Saudi people are always eager see the man who is deemed worthy of holding this post. Prince Salman is immensely popular amongst wide sectors of the Saudi people, and this makes his selection a source of happiness, satisfaction and reassurance for Saudi society.
